Caitlin Clark‘s Indiana Fever will face Paige Bueckers‘ Dallas Wings this Friday on the second night of a back-to-back, as the superstar’s team is trying to find its winning ways once again.

Clark missed the Fever‘s last game vs. Los Angeles Sparks due to a groin injury. The squad misser her, as they fell 85-75, even though they led by eight entering the fourth quarter, only to get outscored 35-17.

The flashy guard was the top choice among general managers as the player they’d most want to sign if starting a franchise today, according to the 2025 WNBA GM Survey. Also, the Indiana Fever were selected as the most fun team to watch and most improved team before the current season started.

Caitlin Clark made sure her presence was felt during the Fever vs. Sparks game, even though she was sidelined due to injury. During a controversial play, the former Iowa Hawkeyes was visibly upset and approached the referees seeking an explanation while they reviewed the call.

Despite her try to get the ref’s attention, they didn’t acknowledge her. When Clark realized they weren’t going to respond, she stepped back, took a breath, and made a sharp gesture, flipping her hair with attitude. Caitlin made suer she wasn’t going to let the moment shake her.

And social media users took note of Caitlin’s passion for the game and her support for her team. “I’m so happy to see this from her. She’s gotta little of her fire back,” an X user wrote. “I love that Caitlin sticks up for herself and her team,” someone else added. “Always a competitor even when she’s not playing,” another person stated.

Indiana’s showing defensive improvement

The Indiana Fever looked locked-in on the defensive end Thursday agains the Los Angeles Sparks, forcing 19 total turnovers – the team’s highest total this season. They recorded 14 steals, including 11 in the first half. Aliyah Boston notched five takeaways of her own, surpassing her previous career high of four steals.

The intensity on that end dissolved in the second half as Indiana allowed a 35-point fourth quarter to decide the outcome of the game. The Fever offense produced just one 20-point quarter – the third quarter in which they outscored Los Angeles 24-20. Indiana led by as many as 10 points in the second half, but couldn’t overcome the burst of offense from the Sparks in the final frame.

The loss marks the third time in the last four games that the Fever have claimed a fourth quarter lead but lost the game. “It’s all about consistency,” Sophie Cunningham said. “And we’re trying to give each other grace and patience, but at some point you’ve got to dig in and say enough is enough.”
