Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever‘s two time All Star, will not be playing in Sunday’s important road game against the Washington Mystics due to a groin injury.

Although sidelined for the rest of the season, Clark remains a dedicated supporter, cheering on her team from the sidelines as they face a crucial playoff matchup.

On Saturday, Clark took some time to unwind as the Fever arrived in Baltimore. She spent the evening at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, attending the Baltimore Orioles‘ home game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The outing gave her a chance to enjoy some baseball away from the court.

Clark was joined by her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, as well as her teammate Lexie Hull and Hull’s partner, Will Matthiessen. The group had a memorable night beyond just watching the game – they got the opportunity to meet Orioles Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr.

Meeting a baseball legend and witnessing a thrilling finish

Cal Ripken Jr., famous for his incredible streak of 2131 consecutive games, a record that recently celebrated its 30th anniversary, was at the ballpark to mark the milestone.

Ripken is a beloved figure in Baltimore and across the baseball world, known for his dedication and durability.

After the game, Ripken posted on social media about meeting Clark, Hull, and their group.

“Great meeting @CaitlinClark22, Lexie Hull and the gang tonight at the game… @Orioles gear looks good on you!” he wrote, showing his appreciation for their support.

The Orioles thrilled their fans with an amazing comeback victory. They scored four runs with two outs in the final inning to edge out the Dodgers 4 3, preventing what looked like a no hit game.

For Clark and her friends, the night was truly unforgettable, not only because of the dramatic win but also because they shared the experience with a baseball icon.

It was a special moment that added some brightness off the basketball court during a tough season.
