Caitlin Clark steals Indiana Fever photographer’s camera and can’t stop taking selfies

It hasn’t been easy for the Indiana Fever with Caitlin Clark injured over the past two weeks, but the team has rebounded in recent games, picking up consecutive wins against the Washington Mystics and Chicago Sky. The latter was a particularly impressive win, as the Clark-less Fever dismantled Angel Reese and a floundering Sky squad.

No one is sure when Clark will be back in action. It will likely be a game or two more without action for the second-year star, as the team wants to play it safe with her injury. In the meantime, Clark has taken the role of assistant coach, making animated gestures and cheering her Fever teammates on from the sidelines. She’s at least having fun with her downtime.

That was made clear by a recent post made by Bri Lewerke, a sports photographer who takes pictures for the Fever during home gamedays. Lewerke gave Clark her camera and told her to take as many pictures as she pleased. Clark didn’t disappoint, snapping a mix of selfies and shots of her teammates. There’s even one where she’s eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Caitlin Clark’s return from injury is still unknown

Clark’s injured quad was expected to knock her out for 1-2 weeks, depending on how she responded to the rehab. Her last game came on May 24, so she’s technically slightly behind schedule.

She’s already been ruled out for Tuesday night’s game against the Atlanta Dream, which puts her next chance to come back on Saturday against the New York Liberty. At home in a rematch of a thrilling 90-88 loss, which happened to be her last game before injury, that seems like a date that’s circled on the calendar for her return.
