Caitlin Clark shows her love for the Kansas City Chiefs just hours before their debut in Brazil

Indiana Fever star and WNBA fan favorite Caitlin Clark has never hidden her admiration for the NFL. This time, she made it clear which team she supports: the Kansas City Chiefs. Through a post on her X account, Clark sent a short but heartfelt message of encouragement to Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and head coach Andy Reid ahead of their highly anticipated matchup.

Go Fever, Go Chiefs!!! let’s have a day.

With those words, Clark publicly showed her unwavering support for the Chiefs, who will face a tough divisional rival tonight. Kansas City is set to battle the Los Angeles Chargers, a team that, under head coach Jim Harbaugh, has shown remarkable improvement and is expected to challenge Mahomes and company at every turn.

This game marks the first contest of the NFL’s international schedule for the 2025 season. The matchup will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, highlighting the league’s ongoing push to expand its global reach. Both Mahomes and Kelce expressed their excitement about playing abroad, emphasizing how special it is to bring football to Brazilian fans and to be part of an event that strengthens the sport’s presence worldwide.

Caitlin Clark continues her recovery

The WNBA’s brightest star remains sidelined as she works to fully recover from a lingering groin injury that has limited her throughout the year. Recently, Clark announced on social media that she will not return for the remainder of the 2025 season. Instead, she plans to focus entirely on rehabilitation so she can come back stronger and healthier for the next campaign.

So far this season, Clark has appeared in only 13 games, a disappointing number for the league’s most beloved player. The lack of playing time stems from a string of injuries that have kept her from staying at full strength.

Her most recent game was on July 15, when she re-aggravated her right groin injury during a matchup against the Connecticut Sun. It was later revealed that she may have rushed her return, which contributed to the setback.

In addition to her groin issue, Clark has also dealt with a left quadriceps injury and another strain to her left groin earlier this year.

After discussions between team management, Clark, and head coach, the decision was made to sit her for the rest of the season to prevent further complications and ensure she returns at peak condition in 2026.

What’s next for the Indiana Fever

The Fever have struggled with injuries to their stars throughout this disappointing 2025 campaign. While Clark’s absence is the most notable, Sophie Cunningham is also out for the season with a knee injury.

Despite these setbacks, Indiana remains in eighth place and still has a shot at clinching a postseason berth. Their remaining regular-season schedule includes three critical games:

  • Friday, September 5: vs. Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, IN.
  • Sunday, September 7: at Washington Mystics at CFG Bank Arena, Baltimore, MD.
  • Tuesday, September 9: vs. Minnesota Lynx at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, IN.

These final games will determine whether the Fever can dig deep and make a surprising push into the playoffs despite their adversity.
