Caitlin Clark is on a mission to show the world why she’s the best female basketball player, as she starts to cement her legacy with the Indiana Fever in the WNBA.

The team lead by Clark was eliminated by the Connecticut Sun in a best-of-three series during the first round of the playoffs, which hurt the former Iowa Hawkeyes‘s standout pride.

And the baller has made it clear that she hates losing with passion. During an interview with Nike at the beginning of the year that she hates losing even before she can remember. “When I was growing up all I did was cry when I lost. It upset my parents a lot. My dad was my first coach so he had to deal with me crying,” Clark said.

After the Indiana Fever beat the Atlanta Dream 81-76 on the road, Clark was walking down the tunnel of Gateway Center Arena when she noticed that a young girl was holdling a sign that read: “C.C., could I get your jersey please?”. Caitlin stopped and took her sneakers, handle the pair to the young girl and signed the shoes, which made the crowd go wild.

Social media users took notice of the kind gesture, too. “Caitlin turning little fans into future hoopers, one pair at a time,” an X user wrote. “That’s how you inspire young women to be their greatest self. Thank you Caitlin,” said another one. “The best do great things when they don’t have to,” added somebody else.

A great win for Clark and the Fever

Indiana Fever forward Natasha Howard scored 26 points – a season-high – to lead her team to victory against the Atlanta Dream 81-76 on the road. The former Florida State University star matched her career high of 12 field goals made, set in 2022 when she was a member of the New York Liberty.

Veteran guard Kelsey Mitchell added 17 points during the effort, after a slow offensive start for Indiana. And after missing the first two games of the season with an ankle injury, guard Sophie Cunningham made her regular season debut, adding eight points for her team.

“Those were some big plays at key moments,” head coach Stephanie White told her Indiana Fever players after the game against the Dream. The squad found a way to win as they learn to play hard, something the team lead by Clark will need often if they want to make a deep playoff run.
