Indiana Fever are already looking ahead to the WNBA preseason against the Washington Mystics on May 3 and even more so to the start of the regular season. Of course, part of the excitement comes from the rival team: Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky.

Caitlin Clark was chosen as Rookie of the Year 2024, taking 66 of 67 votes for Rookie of the Year. The remaining vote went to Angel Reese. The Sky forward averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds to finish the season, but Clark had 19.3 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds.

Clark vs. Reese was not only a key driver of increased television ratings, but also a box office sensation, as tickets for this game are already sold out.

But, prior to the season opener, the Fever stars shared their thoughts and feelings, and Clark’s words did not go unnoticed:

We are building a championship team. We’re excited about all the pieces we’ve added, with a great coaching staff, and we’re looking forward to working hard.

How is Indiana Fever preparing?

Fever selected three players in the WNBA Draft: Makayla Timpson, Bree Hall and Yvonne Ejim with the 19th, 20th and 33rd overall selections, respectively.

Timpson played all four years of her college career at Florida State. In 131 games, the forward averaged 13 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. In her final season, she averaged 17.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.

Hall played all four years of his collegiate career as a guard at South Carolina, although his performance stood out in the 2023-24 season. That year, she averaged 9.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game and beat Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes in the 2023-24 national championship.

Finally, Ejim played all five of her collegiate seasons at Gonzaga. The Canadian forward averaged 20.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game during the 2024-25 season.

And although the maximum number of players a team can have on its roster is 12 and the Fever already had them, this would only open the door for Timpson, Hall and Ejim to showcase their talent and make the team.

Clark’s transformation

During a recent visit to the University of Iowa, Clark was photographed, revealing her significant gain of more muscle mass in her legs and arms.

The images quickly circulated on social media, prompting reactions from fans and sports personalities alike.

This is just a sign of her commitment and determination to face the upcoming challenges with Indiana Fever in her second season in the WNBA.
