Caitlin Clark made her WNBA preseason debut in the Indiana Fever’s 108-44 thrashing of Brazil.
The all-time leading scorer in college basketball and last season’s WNBA Rookie of the Year, Clark scored 16 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out five assists.
Caitlin Clark hit a viral three-pointer from the logo with which she scored from more than 10 meters.
The game was played in Iowa City, the same place where Clark shone during her college years, just over two hours from her hometown of Des Moines.
Tickets for the game on the resale market sold for an average of $440, according to sports industry portal Front Office Sports.
At the end of the game, Clark said the Fever are aiming “for the championship” this year. “That’s our goal,” she added.
For Brazil, the top scorer was Iza Nicoletti with nine points.
Brazil presented a team without its main figures for the duel against the Fever. In fact, Nicoletti, like most of the players who represented Brazil today, competes in college basketball in the United States.
The Fever will make their regular season debut on May 17 in Indianapolis against Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky.
