Caitlin Clark is back. After eight months of grueling rehabilitation, the Indiana Fever star has returned to the court and declared herself ready for the WNBA regular season, which tips off on May 8.

Following a dazzling 2024 campaign that earned her Rookie of the Year honors, fans and analysts anticipated a breakout season in 2025.

But injuries derailed those expectations. A quadriceps issue sidelined her early, before a right groin tear ended her season entirely.

Clark appeared in just 13 games last year. She and the Fever opted for a cautious, extended recovery plan-one that has now paid off.

In a recent interview with NBC, via Field House Files beat reporter Scott Agness, the Fever guard spoke about her long-awaited return and her health:

“More than anything, I really did feel like myself. I feel really healthy,” she said. “A lot of people put in a lot of time to get me back here.”

Reflecting on her recovery, Clark added:

It’s crazy to think it was eight months. I’m just excited for the winter season. I miss playing in front of fans in every city.

Her performance with Team USA at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup qualifying tournament in Puerto Rico confirmed her readiness.

  • 21.2 minutes
  • 11.6 points
  • 52.9% field goal percentage
  • 6.4 assists
  • 3 rebounds

Her efforts earned her the tournament MVP award and signaled to the rest of the WNBA that she is back-healthy, confident, and ready to redefine the league once again.
