Caitlin Clark plans to put basketball on hold to pursue another job that could support Taylor Swift

Caitlin Clark is taking advantage of the WNBA offseason to explore new interests, hinting at a possible DJ career as with the Indiana Fever season not starting until May, she’s finding ways to stay creative while supporting friends like Taylor Swift.

During a recent vlog with teammate Aerial Powers, Clark discussed her musical side – something that will no doubt catch the attention of her Grammy-winning artist friend when they meet up to watch the Kansas City Chiefs.

Powers said, “Ask everybody on the team, I’m legit on the AUX,” whilst Clark added: “Maybe that’s what I’ll do in the offseason, I’ll become a DJ.”

Her interest in music isn’t new as Powers recalled a playful moment after the Fever’s playoff exit, commenting, “CC over there on the couch being the DJ, standing on the couch with her shades on…Everybody’s just being them.”

Her presence kept spirits high for a team navigating the WNBA Playoffs without their star guard on the court, who was averaging 19 points-per-game prior to her season-ending injury.

Fans may remember earlier signs of her musical leanings as back in March 2024, while still at college with the Iowa Hawkeyes, she pretended to DJ in a hotel lobby during a team trip to Seattle.

Clark could take cues from other athlete-DJs like Shaquille O’Neal. She plans to refine her skills over the offseason and perhaps entertain teammates once next season begins, blending music with team morale and bonding.

Indiana Fever prepares for WNBA title charge: Who is on the roster?

The break between seasons is crucial. Trades, acquisitions, and roster adjustments shape the next campaign as the team makes a push for the WNBA Finals after narrowly missing out, losing to the Las Vegas Aces in the semifinals.

But regardless of whether her spot is secure, she values her teammates’ contributions and cherishes the connections formed on and off the court, vowing they always have a home at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

“I don’t think anything necessarily surprised me,” Clark added to Powers. “Every player that’s come in…we’ve loved having you…no matter who it is.

You cherish those memories you got to spend with each other.”

Currently, only three players, Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Makalya Timpson, are signed for the upcoming season whilst the rest of the roster is in flux due to stalled CBA negotiations after allegations against the commissioner.

That is leaving room for potential shifts but for now, Clark’s plans highlight her desire to grow beyond basketball as DJ-ing offers a chance to develop new skills and maintain connections in other fields, including entertainment circles like Taylor Swift’s.

With time to explore creative pursuits, she can combine her competitive drive with personal passions. Music may provide a fun, meaningful outlet while keeping her presence strong in the Fever community and beyond.
