Caitlin Clark’s prolonged absence hasn’t just worried fans-it’s transformed Indiana from a Finals contender into a team clawing for a playoff spot. In the midst of this struggle, Aliyah Boston has carried the Fever with relentless determination, and Clark has taken notice.
Clark’s second WNBA season hasn’t unfolded as expected. After being named 2024 Rookie of the Year, she was sidelined by two major injuries-quadriceps and groin tears-missing 26 of the Fever’s 41 games so far.
To make matters worse, Indiana also lost Sophie Cunningham, Aari McDonald, and Sydney Colson to season-ending injuries. Despite the setbacks, the Fever remain in the playoff hunt, thanks in large part to Boston’s dominance.
Caitlin’s emotional message to Aliyah
With the postseason looming, Boston shared an Instagram carousel that included a photo of her hugging the injured Clark, along with the hopeful caption: “Hoopin’ and vibing.”
Clark quickly responded with a touching four-word reply that captured her admiration for her teammate: “So proud of you.” The simple but powerful message struck a chord with Fever fans, echoing the pride they feel for Boston’s resilience.
Aliyah Is the driving force of the Fever
In Clark’s absence, Boston has been the anchor. She’s averaging 15.6 points, 3.6 assists, and 8.3 rebounds per game. On Saturday against the Los Angeles Sparks, she delivered a monster performance-22 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists-to lead Indiana to a dramatic 76-75 victory.
With less than a week left in the regular season, the Fever sit at 21-18 and in sixth place, battling for every win to secure their playoff berth. If they succeed, Aliyah Boston’s name will be etched as the cornerstone of their survival.
