Caitlin Clark may upset a crowd after being considered as the WNBA’s Michael Jordan

Caitlin Clark has quickly become the most popular basketball player on the planet, a status she first earned at the collegiate level with Iowa. Now in her second year as a professional with the Indiana Fever in the WNBA, she is one of the most-watched icons across all sports in the United States.

This popularity has placed her in a position where she’s already being compared to one of the greatest athletes, perhaps the most popular in the history of sports overall.

Caitlin Clark is considered on the level of Michael Jordan

It’s difficult to determine the ceiling of Caitlin Clark‘s potential, as it’s a fact that there has never been anyone with her profile in the WNBA. Against this backdrop, Colin Cowherd has made a comparison that many might find inappropriate, placing her in the same equation as Michael Jordan.

In other words, for the television personality, Caitlin Clark is “the Michael Jordan of the WNBA.”

“There’s a lot of similarities between Michael Jordan and Caitlin Clark,” Cowherd commented on his show, later noting that the Fever are not a strong team, similar to the situation Michael Jordan faced when he was drafted by the Chicago Bulls.

“These are very similar players,” Cowherd said. “They both sold a lot of merchandise. We fell in love with them and knew them.”

It’s true that Caitlin Clark cannot be compared to LeBron James, as he didn’t have a standout college career, and while she shoots like Stephen Curry or is a great scorer, Michael Jordan is the closest comparison.

What is undeniable is that Michael Jordan wasn’t truly Michael Jordan until he won his first NBA title in his seventh season. While Clark has significantly improved her game with the Indiana Fever, the team is not among the favorites to win the WNBA title.

So, for this comparison to hold weight, we believe we must wait until Caitlin Clark wins a title and continues to do so consistently, as His Airness did at the highest level with the Chicago Bulls.
