Caitlin Clark may be days away from tipping off her first WNBA season, but she’s already become one of Indiana’s most talked-about figures. The Indiana Fever rookie, who is quickly endearing herself to the local fanbase, was courtside again for the Pacers‘ Game 2 win over the Milwaukee Bucks, this time bringing a bit of comedy to the postseason atmosphere.
As the Pacers pulled off a 123-115 victory to go up 2-0 in their first-round series, Clark joined a few of her Fever teammates at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to support the brother franchise. But beyond cheering, she also brought a bit of entertainment, and a viral moment that had fans cracking up.
“Hit the Bucks guy in the face”
After the game, Clark was seen playfully encouraging her teammate Natasha Howard to throw a jersey at a nearby Bucks fan. In a clip now making the rounds on social media, Clark can be heard shouting, “Hit the Bucks guy in the face!” as Sophie Cunningham and Jillian Alleyne laughed beside her.
While the comment was clearly all in good fun, it immediately caught the internet’s attention. Fans loved seeing Clark’s playful energy and how quickly she’s embraced the local sports rivalry. “She already an Indianimal, I love it,” one fan posted. Another added, “She is hilarious,” while others simply celebrated the bond forming between Indiana’s pro teams.
Fever season approaching, but Clark stays in the spotlight
Though the WNBA season is still a week away, Clark is far from off the radar. She was named the 2024 Rookie of the Year and will be front and center when the Fever begin their preseason on May 3, followed by a game against Brazil the next day. The regular season officially kicks off on May 17 in a headline matchup against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky.
Still, with the Pacers heading to Milwaukee for Game 3, it’s unclear if Clark will make the trip, especially with training ramping up. But one thing’s for sure: she’s already made her mark, and fans in Indiana are loving every second of it.
From buzzer-beaters to Bucks banter, Caitlin Clark is proving she’s here for more than just basketball, she’s here for the culture.
