Caitlin Clark left in awe of her former teammate as Fever star shows her flirty side

Caitlin Clark, the electric point guard of the Indiana Fever, turned some heads on social media – not for a buzzer-beater or record-breaking assist. This time, it was a playful and flirty Instagram comment aimed at her former Iowa Hawkeyes teammate, Jada Gyamfi.

Gyamfi had posted a relaxed photo of herself in pajamas on a nighttime stroll, with her back turned to the camera and a Dairy Queen sign glowing in the background.

In response, Clark left a single-word comment: “Cakeeee,” making it crystal clear what part of the post caught her attention.

In Gen Z slang, “cake” most commonly refers to a well-shaped butt or buttocks, often in a complimentary way. The term is often used in the context of body positivity and can be seen as a way to celebrate different body types.

The comment had fans raising eyebrows and smiling at the unexpected moment of social media charm. It was unmistakably flirty, and it didn’t go unnoticed by followers or fellow teammates.

Another former Hawkeye, AJ Ediger, piled onto the fun, writing, “I see 2 desserts,” adding a clever pun to the post’s caption and doubling down on the lighthearted vibe.

A teasing tradition between Clark and Gyamfi

While Clark’s comment was bold, it’s not entirely out of character. Over the years, she and Gyamfi have developed a playful, sister-like friendship, cultivated during their shared time at the University of Iowa.

Together, they competed in back-to-back NCAA championship games, battled through the grueling Big Ten schedule, and contributed to a golden era of Iowa women’s basketball. Their bond, forged on the court, clearly extends well beyond it.

This isn’t the first time Clark has playfully teased Gyamfi on Instagram either. In a previous post featuring Gyamfi dressed up during a trip to Seattle, Clark commented, “More ball, less photoshoots and Ferris wheel rides,” to which Gyamfi fired back with “you’re literally so annoying.”

That exchange, like the “Cakeeee” comment, reminded fans of the close-knit relationships that often blossom among teammates who spend years competing together.

Clark enjoys herself away from the court

And while Clark’s online personality is charmingly unfiltered, it’s consistent with how she interacts with other players too. She’s been known to make humorous and cheeky comments on posts from current and former teammates like Lexie Hull and Sophie Cunningham, showing that this mix of affection and banter is just part of her social media signature.

Off the court, these light moments offer fans a new look at the rising WNBA superstar – a side that’s relaxed, humorous, and deeply connected to her basketball roots.

Though it started as a one-word comment, Clark’s flirtatious “Cakeeee” to Jada Gyamfi became a viral talking point, not just for its boldness but for the genuine friendship it highlighted.

Their social media banter feels like a continuation of the camaraderie they built during their time at Iowa, a reminder that the relationships built in the locker room often last far beyond the game clock.

As Clark continues to rise through the ranks in the WNBA and Gyamfi makes waves with her growing online presence, fans can expect more moments like this – fun, unexpected, and full of personality. Whether on the court or on Instagram, Caitlin Clark never misses a chance to make an impression.
