Caitlin Clark added another chapter to her WNBA legacy on May 20, breaking multiple records during the Indiana Fever‘s close 91-90 loss to the Atlanta Dream at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The second-year star’s historic performance (27 points, 11 assists, 5 rebounds) showcased her extraordinary talent, even as the Fever fell short in a nail-biting finish. Clark’s record-breaking night continues to solidify her as one of the league’s most impactful players in just her sophomore season.

Clark tied Courtney Vandersloot for the most games with 20+ points and 10+ assists in WNBA history, reaching her 10th such game in only 42 career games compared to Vandersloot’s 430. She also became the first player in WNBA history to open a season with back-to-back 20+ point, 10+ assist games, following her triple-double (20 points, 10 assists, 10 rebounds) in the Fever’s 93-58 win over the Chicago Sky on May 17.

Additionally, Clark became the first player in league history with multiple games of 25+ points, 10+ assists, 5+ rebounds, and 5+ three-pointers made, achieving this rare stat line for the second time.

She also recorded her 6th game with 25+ points and 10 assists, surpassing Sabrina Ionescu for the most in WNBA history, a milestone Scott Kacsmar noted earlier this season.

Caitlin is praised for her achievements

The Dream edged out the Fever with Brittney Griner’s 21 points and Brionna Jones’ 19 points and 13 rebounds leading the way. Aliyah Boston contributed 24 points and 10 rebounds for Indiana. Fans on X were quick to praise Clark’s milestones, with @CClarkReport posting, “Caitlin Clark ties the record for most 20 point + 10 assist games in WNBA history (10),” capturing the excitement.

LeBron James also commended her earlier this week, saying, “TRIPLE DUB CC!! Great way to kick off the season!” to which Clark replied, “The greatest of all time. Thank you, goat.” Despite the Fever’s narrow loss, Clark’s historic achievements keep her in the spotlight as she continues to redefine excellence in the 2025 WNBA season.
