Caitlin Clark has nothing to envy WNBA Hall of Famers: What she’s doing is not normal

It was a banner day for the WNBA on Saturday, and it was once again thanks to Caitlin Clark. The second-year star made her return from injury for the Indiana Fever and wasted no time getting going, pouring in 32 points and leading her team to a big win over the defending champion New York Liberty.

At one point during the game, Clark scored nine points in 38 seconds. Although we’ve grown accustomed to her greatness, it’s still a sight to behold, with even LeBron James and Nike themselves feeling the need to post about what she’s doing on a basketball court. In the process, she’s already building a Hall of Fame resume.

Caitlin Clark now has most 30 point, 5 rebound, 5 assist games through 2 seasons in WNBA history

Following her performance against the Liberty, another jaw-dropping stat emerged that proves she is one-of-one when it comes to WNBA players, past or present.

Clark became the only player in league history with three games where she contributes at least 30 points, five rebounds and five assists through her first two seasons in the league. WNBA legend Candace Parker is the only other player who had done it twice; no one else had done it more than once.

Setting records like that one has become a common theme for Clark. She’s only 45 games into her WNBA career, yet she has already gone down in the record books in various categories. While it’s too early to call her a shoo-in for the Hall of Fame, she will eventually get there as long as she stays healthy. There’s simply no reason to believe she won’t keep accomplishing incredible things.
