Caitlin Clark picks the Kansas City Chiefs over one of her close friends as the Indiana Fever star declares she wants the Arrowhead Stadium to celebrate another Super Bowl crown, once again at the expense of the Philadelphia Eagles.

When the Iowa Hawkeyes faced off against USC on Sunday, February 2, all eyes were on Caitlin Clark but not just for her accomplishments on the basketball court, as interest centered around for her loyalty when it comes to football.

As her iconic jersey was being retired at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, the Indiana Fever ace took part in a national Fox broadcast with Jason Benetti and Christy Winters Scott and reflected on her extraordinary college career, her WNBA future, and more.

However, the discussion soon veered from basketball to another major sporting event looming on the horizon as Super Bowl LIX edges ever closer and Clark’s allegiance to the Kansas City Chiefs is no secret.

However, her friendship with Philadelphia Eagles defensive back Cooper DeJean raised questions about where her support would lie for the upcoming game. So who did she pick to side with?

Caitlin Clark stays loyal to the Chiefs

DeJean, who played for the Hawkeyes from 2021 to 2023, was selected by the Eagles in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft and his connection to Clark had previously garnered attention when he revealed that NFL teams asked him about her during pre-draft interviews.

Yet despite their friendship, the WNBA Rookie of the Year remained steadfast in her support for Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes in their quest for a record-breaking third consecutive championship ring.

“I always hope the best for people I know personally,” Clark said to Fox Sports. “I hope Cooper has a great game, but you know it’s my Chiefs all day long.”

Clark did not reveal whether she plans to attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans. However, she was notably present in Travis Kelce’s VIP suite alongside Taylor Swift for the Chiefs’ Divisional Round victory over the Houston Texans on January 18.

Whether she makes another high-profile appearance for the big game remains to be seen, but one thing is clear-when it comes to football, her heart belongs to Kansas City.
