Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham both made their returns to the floor on Saturday, helping the Indiana Fever secure a high-scoring 102-88 win over the New York Liberty.
Clark had missed time with a left quad strain, while Cunningham was coming off a re-aggravated ankle injury that had kept her sidelined for multiple games.
Despite being back in action together, Cunningham appeared to miss one of Clark‘s highlight moments.
After the game, Clark shared a photo on Instagram that captured the moment-Clark pushing the ball up the court and launching a three, while Cunningham lay sprawled on the floor behind her.
“Bro u good?,” Clark joked in the caption, playfully teasing her teammate.
A fiery return for Clark sparks Fever’s best shooting night
Clark wasted no time finding her rhythm, delivering one of her strongest performances of the season. She finished with 32 points, shooting 7-of-14 from three-point range, and came within two rebounds and one assist of a triple-double. Cunningham also chipped in with five points and four rebounds, including a three of her own.
The Fever‘s outside shooting was relentless. Indiana drained 17-of-35 from deep, setting a new franchise record for most three-pointers in a single game. Clark led the charge, but she had help. Lexie Hull went 3-for-4 from distance, Kelsey Mitchell added three more, and Sydney Colson, Cunningham, and Damiris Dantas each connected from beyond the arc.
Clark‘s shooting spree, paired with the team’s overall efficiency, powered Indiana to one of their most complete offensive efforts of the season. It was a night where everything seemed to fall into place for the Fever-and a reminder of the firepower this team holds when fully healthy.
Though Cunningham might have missed the moment in real time, Clark‘s lighthearted check-in on social media reminded fans that this Indiana squad is not only playing well-they’re enjoying the ride together.
