Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham continue to troll each other as the future remains uncertain: “Do you play basketball?”

Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham are still trading jokes online, even as questions swirl about their future together in Indiana. Their latest exchange shows the friendship remains intact.

The pair grew close during their first season with the Indiana Fever in 2025, and although injuries limited their shared minutes, their chemistry off the court became obvious to fans.

Clark was restricted to 13 games because of a right groin issue and a bone bruise, yet Cunningham consistently showed support, and the bond strengthened despite limited in-game reps.

One defining moment came on June 17 against the Connecticut Sun, after Clark was poked in the eye by Jacy Sheldon and shoved by Marina Mabrey.

Later in that contest, Cunningham grabbed Sheldon by the head and brought her down, drawing a Flagrant 2 foul, yet earning admiration from Fever fans who viewed it as loyalty.

Now in the offseason, the two continue to spar playfully on social media, and their most recent interaction quickly caught attention across platforms.

After Cunningham posted several February photos that contained no basketball context, Clark jumped into the comments with a pointed question.

“Do u play basketball,” Clark wrote, perhaps noticing that Cunningham‘s post didn’t include anything related to basketball or training.

Cunningham fired back almost immediately, keeping the tone light and sarcastic. “do you want me to send you my highlight reel?”

The humor lands differently given Cunningham‘s circumstances, because she has been rehabbing a torn MCL in her right knee, which prematurely ended her 2025 campaign.

While the teasing continues, contract realities loom in the background. Clark remains under her rookie deal, whereas Cunningham is set to enter free agency in 2026.

Both players have spoken positively about staying together, yet Cunningham has acknowledged the financial stakes, especially as she approaches what could be her final major contract.

Consequently, the lighthearted exchanges coexist with uncertainty, and fans are left wondering whether the duo will share the floor again in Indianapolis.

Clark’s teammate Aliyah Boston suffers campaign-ending injury

Beyond their friendship, another Fever storyline has emerged during the Unrivaled season involving Aliyah Boston.

Boston returned to Unrivaled as a member of Phantom BC, and she delivered a dominant stretch, helping secure the league’s best regular-season mark at 11-3.

She earned Defensive Player of the Year honors, averaging 18.9 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.1 blocks, while anchoring the league’s top defense.

However, Boston exited Phantom‘s final regular-season game with a right lower-extremity injury, casting doubt over her availability for the playoffs.

Her absence reshapes the title picture, particularly with Dana Evans also sidelined, leaving Aziaha James and Makayla Timpson to fill key roles.

Phantom now prepares to face Vinyl BC at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, as the postseason unfolds under mounting pressure and uncertainty.

With only days remaining in Unrivaled competition, Boston‘s status remains unclear, though she is scheduled to report to USA Basketball camp in Miami on March 6.
