Caitlin Clark and her secret for not being affected by everything that is said about her on social media

Caitlin Clark remains the center of countless debates on social media, from officiating in the WNBA to deeper discussions about race and the scrutiny that follows her every move. Despite the constant attention, Clark remains grounded and composed.

Recently, Clark joined legends Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe on their podcast A Touch More, where she spoke candidly about fame, pressure, and the realities of her new life in the WNBA.

In a world consumed by online chatter, Clark made it clear that she doesn’t measure her worth or identity through what’s said on the internet.

“You have to remember, like, social media is just such a false perception of reality… It’s not the real world,” Clark said.

“But I think when I show up to arenas, those are the moments that really remind me of how many people are really there supporting you and loving you, like the little boys and the little girls. Those aren’t the people that are on social media caring about every decision you make or every comment you make.”

As the noise grows louder, Clark stays focused on being herself

While it’s clear that she’s under an intense microscope, Clark isn’t bending to the pressure. She maintains an admirable level of self-awareness and chooses to meet each challenge by staying true to who she is.

“I feel like I just try to show up every single day and be myself and approach it that way and just be authentically me,” she said. “Whether that’s hard questions or hard moments, whatever it is, you kind of just take it as it goes.”

Clark understands that in today’s sports landscape, criticism, especially online, is part of the package. Still, she views it all through a lens of gratitude.

“I always try to remind myself how lucky I am to be here and be in this position, too,” she noted. “There would be so many people that would kill to be in my shoes. So, you know, there’s gonna be hard moments, but at the same time, there’s been a lot of really good moments, too.”

Though All-Star Weekend was a whirlwind of celebration and media appearances, Clark‘s immediate focus has shifted back to her health. Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White provided an update, noting that Clark is still working through a groin injury and will likely miss Tuesday night’s game against the New York Liberty.
