Bronny James surpasses his father in an NBA game for the first time in Lebron’s historic night

The night for the Los Angeles Lakers went all wrong after losing their third straight game 124-112 against the Sacramento Kings. In what was supposed to be a memorable night for LeBron James in Sacramento after the NBA announced that he will have a commemorative patch for the rest of the season with the number 23 on his jersey due to being the only player to play in 23 seasons in the NBA.

LeBron’s career started when he was just 18 years old in 2003 with the Cleveland Cavaliers, playing in Sacramento in a loss where LeBron ended with a game-high 25 points and 9 assists, proving day one why he was “the chosen one”.

Bronny Goes Perfect and Surpasses LeBron

LeBron finished with 22 points but was one of four Lakers players who didn’t make a three-pointer on three or more attempts. James went 0/5, Jake LaRavia also went 0/5, Marcus Smart and Jared Vanderbilt went 0/3. The only one who didn’t miss was Bronny James going 2/2, who only played at the end of the game but made the most of those minutes and for the first time finished with a better stat than his father.

It’s not like Bronny has had much chance to compete, he hasn’t seen much action this season and in general in his NBA career playing more than five minutes in just one of the Lakers’ last 15 games and the six points his highest mark since scoring nine on November 8 against the Hawks.

Bronny’s Limited Role and Future in NBA

Bronny has been playing more time with the Lakers G League team but even there he has not shown the qualities of a regular NBA player. As his father’s time in the NBA is expiring at 41 years old, the same seems to be happening to Bronny at just 21 because once LeBron is gone nothing guarantees that Bronny can stay in the NBA since his development has not been what was expected.

Still he’s only 21 and can overcome these adversities but with the daily competition in the NBA having a spot on a team is extremely hard. The Lakers play tonight in the second night of back-to-back against the Hawks who ride a three-game winning streak since trading Trae Young to the Wizards.
