Bronny James sends clear message to mother Savannah and brother Bryce as rumors about Lebron’s retirement intensify

The James family continues to capture headlines both on and off the court, and this weekend was no different.

As the basketball world keeps a close eye on LeBron James’ looming retirement decision, his wife Savannah and sons Bronny and Bryce took center stage with a celebration that reminded fans just how fast time is moving.

On Saturday, Savannah James celebrated a major milestone – her youngest son Bryce turning 18.

Sharing a heartfelt Instagram post, Savannah included a series of photos showcasing Bryce’s growth from childhood to his current status as an elite basketball recruit.

“18 is CRAAAAAAZZYY!!” she wrote in the caption. “Happiest Birthday, Bryce Maximus!!”

The post quickly drew reactions, including a comment from Bryce’s older brother Bronny James, who responded with: “Nah, 18 is nuts.”

It was a simple reply, but one that echoed a deeper sentiment: the next generation of the James family is officially stepping into adulthood and basketball’s big leagues, just as the era of their father may be drawing to a close.

From high school stardom to college promise

Bryce James, now 18, is preparing for his freshman season with the Arizona Wildcats.

The 6-foot-6 shooting guard made a name for himself at Sierra Canyon and gained further recognition on the Nike EYBL grassroots circuit.

Playing in 14 games for the “Strive For Greatness” program, he averaged 6.9 points and 2.2 rebounds on 39 percent shooting from the field, according to ESPN.

In a standout performance, Bryce dropped 21 points and six rebounds while shooting 5-of-9 from deep against NightRydas Elite-highlighting his shooting potential and readiness for the collegiate stage.

Arizona’s program, which also landed five-star recruit Dwayne Aristode from Brewster Academy, could provide a strong platform for Bryce to flourish and evolve into a top NCAA contributor.

Meanwhile, Bronny just wrapped up his rookie season with the Los Angeles Lakers – alongside their father, LeBron.

The 19-year-old appeared in 27 regular-season games, averaging 2.3 points in just under 7 minutes per contest. His breakout moment came against the Milwaukee Bucks on March 20, when he tallied a career-best 17 points.

Although his playoff involvement was limited, with two short appearances against Minnesota, Bronny’s first year in the league marked the beginning of what could be a long NBA career.

And yet, it all unfolds under the shadow of LeBron James – who remains unsigned for the 2025-26 season.

At 39, the four-time NBA champion has hinted at retirement, but no official word has come. Many believe he may try to remain active long enough to share the court with both of his sons, a feat never before achieved in NBA history.

For now, though, it’s a family moment worth celebrating.

As Bryce prepares to step onto the NCAA stage, and Bronny continues to learn the NBA ropes, LeBron and Savannah are watching their children follow in their footsteps, building their own legacies, while honoring the one that made it all possible.

The James dynasty may be entering a new phase, but if this birthday tribute is any sign, the bond between them remains unbreakable.
