Bronny James has started doing business with Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns for the Los Angeles Lakers

There is no doubt that Arch Manning is the face of the entire University of Texas athletic program in 2025. However, the Longhorns are a team with a lot of tradition and many successful programs, and basketball is no exception.

Now, two former Longhorns basketball players have joined the NBA Summer League with the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason to team up with Bronny James, son of one of the greatest athletes of all time – LeBron James. Bronny is entering his second year.

The former Longhorns who are part of the Lakers’ Summer League roster are Sir’Jabari Rice and Arthur Kaluma. They will be looking to make a name for themselves, either earning a spot on the Lakers’ main roster or catching the eye of another NBA team to advance their professional careers.

Rice and Kaluma have already debuted in the Summer League

Both players had their opportunity during the California Classic in San Francisco this past weekend, and for obvious reasons (Bronny James), it was the most-watched game of the league.

In the game against the Miami Heat, Bronny James performed well, finishing with 10 points and two rebounds in just 11 minutes of play. Meanwhile, former Longhorn Sir’Jabari Rice totaled 13 points, grabbed four rebounds, and handed out four assists.

The Lakers will begin their participation in the NBA 2K26 Summer League in Las Vegas next Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks, where – without a doubt – the player to watch will continue to be LeBron James’ son.
