Broncos legend wants Russell Wilson to feel “miserable” while sitting on the Giants bench

It was last Sunday when the Broncos hosted the Giants at Empower Field at Mile High in a Week 7 NFL game. The home team won 33-32, a result that, in addition to marking the team’s fifth victory, has sparked much controversy in recent days due to the clash between New York’s QB2, Russell Wilson, and Denver’s head coach, Sean Payton.

In the game, the Giants took a 19-0 lead over the Broncos and then carried a 26-8 advantage into the fourth quarter. That’s when everything completely fell apart. Denver scored 33 points in the final 10 minutes of the game, while the desperate Giants only managed 13. After a week of garbage exchanges, the Broncos won with a last-second field goal, 33-32.

Mark Schlereth admits ‘hate’ for Giants’ Russell Wilson

Denver’s win over New York gave Broncos coach Sean Payton the opportunity to throw shade at his former quarterback Russell Wilson. The quarterback recalled the “bounty gate” scandal to make the head coach look bad. Now, after the heated exchange, former Broncos legend Mark Schlereth commented on Wilson during The Stinkin’ podcast.

I love the fact that he’s so sarcastic that he can’t just praise Dart. He has to throw something at Wilson

“I’ve always said Russell has this toxic positivity that just stinks. I hate it. As a player, I think there are times when you should be miserable,” Schlereth said. It all started when head coach Payton winked at Wilson with the comment: “(The Giants) found a little spark with that quarterback,” Payton said. Although Payton didn’t take Wilson’s name, it was seen as a dig at Wilson.

Rookie Jaxson Dart was brought in to replace Russell Wilson after the Giants lost three games to Wilson. Payton’s comment was a reference to this trade. Schlereth also praised Payton’s opinion of Wilson. “I love that he feels like he won, and I love the fact that he’s so sarcastic that he can’t just praise Jackson Dart. He has to throw something at Wilson.”

Bo Nix and his incredible fourth-quarter performance against the Giants

Quarterback Bo Nix and the Broncos were held idle for three quarters on Sunday against the New York Giants. With their backs against the wall in the fourth quarter, trailing by three touchdowns, he led one of the greatest comebacks in Broncos history to a 33-32 victory over the G-Men, giving the Broncos first place in the AFC West.

Nix made history with the victory, becoming the first player in NFL history to record two passing and two rushing touchdowns in the same quarter. He finished the game with 279 passing yards and 48 rushing yards, in addition to those two touchdowns. Now, the Broncos will look for their sixth win against the Dallas Cowboys, whom they will face in Week 8 on Sunday, October 26.
