Brittney Griner confesses big regret after Dream’s playoff win over Fever

The Atlanta Dream had a great start to the Playoffs after defeating the Indiana Fever in their first game 80-68 at the Gateway Center. Now, they will look to take the win on Tuesday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to secure their spot in the second round and close out the best-of-three series.

However, during the game, the one who stole the spotlight was Brittney Griner. Despite only getting 8 minutes of playing time, her post on Instagram after the game caught the attention of fans.

Griner reveals a big regret

Atlanta shined in the hands of Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard, who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds each, in 35 and 32 minutes of play respectively.

Brittney, meanwhile, registered just two points on 1-of-4 shooting, one assist and two rebounds. Despite this, the joy of getting the first playoff victory was evident in the 34-year-old center.

On her official Instagram account, Griner shared a video with her 747mil followers in which she is seen handing out toy bricks to Dream fans. This refers to the team’s effort during the season by building their success “brick by brick“, taking it as a motto.

However, in her publication the 10-time All-Star stated that she only regretted one thing: “I wish I had started doing this sooner,” she wrote in the video.

And the reaction from her fans was quick to arrive: “Brick by brick!!! Let’s goooo!!!!” one commented. “Spreading smiles for miles. BG you are an inspiration to young, old, athletic people. Thank you!!!” wrote another follower. “Can I get a brick mailed lol?” another user jokingly asked.

The truth is that this has not been the best season for the center, as the neck injury in early August caused her to lose her place in the starting lineup. She is currently averaging 9.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 0.8 assists.

Meanwhile, Brittney and Atlanta will look to secure their victory against Fever and add another brick to their wall, to continue building their way into the playoffs.
