Brittany Mahomes is clearly proud of her role as a mother and wife when it comes to Patrick Mahomes and their children.
And when it comes to social media, she certainly isn’t afraid to show the world what they mean to her.
Right now, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback needs all the positivity he can get after undergoing knee surgery in December on his knee injury that will rule him out for the majority of 2026.
With the season coming to a close after the Chiefs‘ 14-12 Week 18 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, Mahomes didn’t make the trip.
Instead, he was spotted having lunch at his home in Missouri with his loved ones, and the 30-year-old’s smile was evident.
In a video posted by wife Brittany, she showcased the food and drinks on the table, with daughter Sterling in the shot, along with their infant son Bronze.
The importance of family time
It comes only a few days after Brittany shared a rare and emotional glimpse into her family’s life as Patrick begins his long recovery from season-ending knee surgery.
The New Year’s Eve photo, posted by Brittany, shows the Chiefs passer standing in their driveway alongside his wife and their three children, Sterling, Bronze, and baby Golden, as the kids hold sparklers to ring in the New Year.
The photo was shared just weeks after the Chiefs QB1 suffered a torn ACL and LCL in Week 15 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The injury happened on the final drive as the Chiefs tried to keep their playoff hopes alive. Kansas City lost the game, and without their starting quarterback, the team was eliminated from postseason contention.
The injury brought an unusual end to the 2025 season that began with Super Bowl expectations.
The Chiefs had appeared in three straight Super Bowls and won two of them. Instead of preparing for another playoff run, Patrick is focused on a months-long rehabilitation process.
In the New Year’s Eve picture Brittany shared on her Instagram stories, Patrick is seen wearing a large knee brace and using crutches, standing close to Brittany as their children celebrate beside them.
Fans delighted to see Mahomes on the mend
Fans immediately reacted with messages of support and encouragement: “I love that even though this, he’s out there just being a dad, sending him so much healing,” one fan wrote.
Another added, “Prayers up for QB1! He does great things for KC and is just an all-around good person.” Others focused on the small but reassuring details, with one comment reading, “It’s good to see him standing, though.”
Brittany also shared a picture of the family celebrating Christmas together in matching pajamas, again with Patrick‘s brace visible.
While the image shows a personal side of Patrick‘s recovery, the work behind the scenes is already underway. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid recently confirmed that Mahomes is spending significant time focused on rehabilitation.
“He’s in the building working and doing his rehab, spending a lot of hours doing it,” Reid said. “He’s really attacked that and will continue to do that, he’s around and sees the guys, but most of his time is being spent rehabbing.”
