Brittany Mahomes shares cryptic post after Charlie Kirk’s death

Brittany Mahomes doesn’t often make headlines for political commentary, but her latest Instagram post has people talking.

On Thursday night, the Kansas City Current co-owner reshared a quote from author Sharon McMahon that read: “Hate will not get us out of this mess.” It continued, “Your feelings might lie and try to tell you otherwise, but hate doesn’t know how to heal or build, only how to harm and destroy.”

The timing of that post stood out. Just hours earlier, conservative activist Charlie Kirk had been shot and killed during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University.

Public Figures React to a National Shock

Kirk’s assassination immediately drew national attention and reaction across the political spectrum. Hollywood actor Chris Pratt tweeted: “Praying for Charlie Kirk right now, for his wife and young children, for our country. We need God’s grace.”Tim Allen added his condolences, while The View’s Whoopi Goldberg condemned the attack as an assault on free expression: “It’s not even left or right, it’s just people being taken out because of their beliefs or their thoughts.”

Against that backdrop, Mahomes’ cryptic repost is being closely parsed. Was it a call for peace? A quiet critique of political violence? Or a broader reflection on the state of the country? She hasn’t said.

Brittany, 30, has been in this spotlight before. Last year, she was criticized for liking a Make America Great Again post on Instagram. At the time, she defended herself against critics, writing: “There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.” That moment even earned her praise from Donald Trump, who called her “beautiful.”

This time, though, her words felt less about politics and more about emotion. The message emphasized unity over division – a stark contrast to the climate of anger surrounding Kirk’s death.
