Being married to an NFL superstar is not a simple assignment, and Kansas City Chiefsquarterback Patrick Mahomes knows he’s fortunate to have a partner built for the spotlight.
His wife, Brittany Mahomes, has proven over the years that she has the resilience-and thick skin-required to navigate life beside one of the league’s most recognizable faces. A love story that started a while back
Patrick and Brittany‘s relationship stretches back long before the fame. The two began dating in 2012 as high school sweethearts, long before she became a familiar face on the Arrowhead Stadium sidelines or appeared in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. As Mahomes‘ star rose and Super Bowl rings piled up, the spotlight on their partnership intensified.
Two years ago, Brittany addressed one of the biggest early challenges in their relationship during an Instagram Q&A: dealing with other women pursuing her husband. “How do you deal with all the women trying to get after your husband?” a follower asked in 2023.
“I did use to have a very hard time and get extremely annoyed,” Brittany admitted. “But I am now to a point where I could care less!” Her response reflected a new level of confidence and maturity-by then, she was already a mother of two, ahead of welcoming the couple’s third child in 2025. “It’s actually really sad how disrespectful some women are… But they are a waste of my time and not going to disturb my peace,” she added.
A big decision for Brittany Mahomes
Instead of letting outside noise disrupt her marriage, Brittany Mahomes chose to double down on trust in her husband and to pour her energy into raising their children and supporting the Kansas City community. Her strength hasn’t gone unnoticed.
“I admire my wife Brittany‘s confidence,” Patrick told People in June. “Whether it’s in business, or supporting our family, she always leads with strength and purpose. That kind of confidence is powerful; it pushes me to be better every day.”
And Patrick Mahomes will need every single ounce of help he can get from his wife, as the Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Denver Broncos, 22-19, on Sunday to drop to 5-5 on the season, which includes three losses by three or fewer points. The Chiefs are evenly-matched with all of the teams they’ve fallen to, it’s just been a matter of making a critical play or two at the end of these games, and that has to be the focus moving forward.
