Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, made a notable appearance at Texas Tech University on February 24, showing their continued support for Mahomes’ alma mater.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, 29, attended the Texas Tech Red Raiders‘ game against the Houston Cougars at the United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock.
Although Mahomes left Texas Tech early to pursue his NFL career, he remains a beloved figure at the school. During the game, he embraced the college spirit, wearing a letterman jacket in the school’s red and black colors while energizing the crowd.
Brittany, also 29, matched the team’s colors and was visibly thrilled by the warm reception her husband received.
The couple’s connection to Texas Tech extends beyond sporting events. In August, they pledged $5 million toward the university’s South End Zone and Dustin R. Womble Football Center project.
As a token of appreciation, Texas Tech announced that a dedicated walkthrough area in the soon-to-be-completed facility will bear Mahomes‘ name.
Mahomes has also been honored in other ways by the university. In 2022, he became only the eighth person in Texas Tech history to be inducted into both the Hall of Fame and Ring of Honor.
Brittany, who was pregnant with their second child at the time, celebrated his achievement on Instagram, writing: “The best day, honoring the best guy. So proud of you!”
Brittany Mahomes Resumes Fitness Routine After Giving Birth
