Brittany Mahomes, co-owner of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team Kansas City Current and wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, recently highlighted the team’s remarkable valuation milestone.

Forbes reported that the Kansas City Current is now valued at $275 million, a significant increase reflecting the growing popularity and investment in women’s soccer. Brittany shared this news on her Instagram story, expressing pride in the team’s progress.

The Mahomes couple has been actively involved in the team’s development. Brittany, a former professional soccer player, became a founding co-owner in 2020. Patrick joined as a minority stake-owner in 2023, making him the first active NFL player to co-own an NWSL team.

Their commitment extends beyond ownership. In 2021, plans were announced to build a $135 million stadium specifically for the Kansas City Current, marking a first in women’s professional soccer.

The stadium, which opened in March 2024, underscores the Mahomes’ dedication to providing top-tier facilities for the team.

Balancing family, business, and philanthropy

Beyond their sports ventures, the Mahomes family is known for their philanthropic efforts. Through their foundation, 15 and the Mahomies, they have made significant contributions to various causes. In October 2023, they announced a $1.625 million donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, aiming to support youth development programs in multiple cities, including Kansas City and areas in Texas.

The couple also pledged $5 million towards the South End Zone and Dustin R. Womble Football Center project at Patrick’s alma mater, Texas Tech University, further showcasing their commitment to giving back to the community.

Amidst their professional and philanthropic endeavors, the Mahomes family continues to grow. They welcomed their third child, a daughter named Golden Raye Mahomes, earlier this year. Brittany has been open about the challenges and joys of motherhood, sharing her experiences on social media.

With their combined efforts in sports, business, and community service, Brittany and Patrick Mahomes exemplify a modern power couple making impactful strides both on and off the field.
