Russell Wilson, who started as the first quarterback for the New York Giants, has not offered the expected performance after stringing together three defeats so far this season. This was reason enough for head coach Brian Daboll to make the decision to assign rookie Jaxson Dart as the team’s new quarterback for the upcoming games.
The Giants fell in the first game of the season against the Washington Commanders (21-6), then flew to Dallas for their meeting at AT&T Stadium against the Cowboys (40-37); and finally, their most recent loss was against the Kansas City Chiefs led by Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, who thrashed them in their own home (22-9).

Dart needs to get his act together. The Giants are in dire need of a fresh start and the first-round rookie could represent it. The next opponent –Los Angeles Chargers– is not an easy mission, so they will have to be extremely careful in their strategy with Dart, who will no longer support his team from the bench, but from the field with the ball in his hands.
How things change from one moment to the next and the roles turn around. Just a week ago, Jaxson Dart was supposed to be cheering from the sidelines for the quarterback in play and now Russell Wilson’s new role will be to ‘cheer on’ the inexperienced quarterback; the official mandate of Brian Daboll, head coach of the New York Giants.

It was obvious that the Giants had reached a new low during their Week 3 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, and fans let them hear it when they began to boo. They also began to chant for Dart to replace Wilson. After the game, Wilson spoke about the chants.
“Yeah, I think there’s ups and downs. There’s always tough moments. You’ve got to have thick skin,” Wilson said via ESPN’s Jordan Raanan. “You’ve got to be able to know who you are, know the player you are, know what you’re capable of. Obviously, I’ve been able to demonstrate that throughout my career and obviously what we’re capable of on offense.”
