It seems that Dmitry Bivol doesn’t give a damn about the orders of the WBC and will only follow Turki‘s instructions.
The boxer used his social media to leave a message that disappointed many fans.
He is practically “waiting for the next step” from Turki Alalshikh and his team for the defense of his light heavyweight title. In his message on X, it was clear that he is waiting for the indications from his leader, Turki, to know who his next opponent will be.
Bivol could be stripped of belt
Boxing experts are accusing Bivol of prioritizing money by accepting a fight with Artur Beterbiev instead of facing his mandatory opponent, David Benavidez. Although the fight with Beterbiev seems to be an easier choice for Bivol because he is an older opponent and knows him quite well after 2 very intense fights.
If so, Bivol, the current undisputed 175 lb. champion, could be forced to vacate his WBC title if he doesn’t fight Benavidez, something his promoter, Turki, is not interested in putting the millions on the table.
And is that the WBC gave Bivol‘s team a final deadline during the week, the WBC has already set a date for Bivol to negotiate a fight with Benavidez, which would be on April 8 this year.
The WBC sent letters to the entire team of Bivol and David Benavidez to start making plans as they demand this mandatory fight take place, but as it stands Bivol has no interest in making this fight happen.

It seems that a Beterbiev vs. Bivol lll doesn’t hold the attention of many, as it seems they wanted to see the “Mexican Monster” take on a top boxer.

“Fight Benavidez in Vegas, don’t let Turki blackmail you”.
These were some of the comments that could be read on social media. The truth is that Bivol has secured his future, be it the continuation of the trilogy with Artur Beterbiev or a rematch with Canelo. A fight that the Mexican wants to do yes or yes.
