Boston breaks silence on Kyle Harrison: Devers trade gem could debut soon

Although the trade of Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants generated controversy at the time, the Boston Red Sox seem happy with the great piece they received in return. It is the promising pitcher Kyle Harrison, who could be about to make his debut with Boston in Major League Baseball.

Despite the fact that their starting rotation has been hit by injuries, Boston has managed to remain competitive in the East Division. With a mix of young talent and established arms, the Red Sox are not only surviving, they are now postseason hopefuls and look to the future with optimism with Harrison as a key part of that plan.

When will Kyle Harrison make his Red Sox debut? This is what Alex Cora said

Since arriving in Boston as part of the trade for Devers, Kyle Harrison has been considered a long-term project. However, with a 3.96 ERA in eight starts at Triple-A with the Worcester Red Sox, his rise to the big league team seems to be getting closer and closer. Under media pressure, manager Alex Cora gave an update on the left-hander to Tim Healey of the Boston Globe:

We’re in the process, right? If needed, we think he can do it here. But right now, where we are, we feel comfortable with the guys we have here. But he’s an option… We have more experience than people think. He’s part of it

Cora made it clear that Harrison is already part of the club’s immediate plans, although his debut will depend on the context. They do not want to force his promotion, but they are confident that he is ready to take on the challenge if the rotation needs him.

Red Sox rotation surprises despite injuries

At the beginning of the season, few would have bet on the depth of Boston’s starting rotation. With Kutter Crawford, Tanner Houck and Hunter Dobbins out injured, a collapse was expected, but what seemed to be a weakness turned into an unexpected strength.

The current rotation of Garrett Crochet, Brayan Bello, Lucas Giolito, Walker Buehler and Dustin May has kept the team competitive night in and night out. This is in addition to the fact that both Bello and Crochet are on long-term contracts, which opens the door to a stable and elite rotation if Harrison can establish himself.
