Over the last decade, numerous players have tried to fill the gap at quarterback with the Denver Broncos.
Despite their efforts, the Broncos have been unable to end their playoff drought that has lingered since 2015. However, Bo Nix‘s arrival in 2024 has breathed new life into the franchise.
After being selected as the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Bo Nix quickly proved he was the real deal. In his rookie season, Nix started every one of Denver’s 18 regular-season games.
He threw for 3,775 yards, posted 29 touchdowns, and added 430 rushing yards, helping elevate the Broncos back into playoff contention.
His standout performances and impressive numbers have made him one of the most exciting young quarterbacks in the league.

What really sets Nix apart, however, is not just the praise he receives from his own team but from rivals as well. The Kansas City Chiefs, no strangers to Super Bowl glory, have been among those taking notice of Nix’s potential.
Chiefs show respect for the rookie
At Super Bowl LIX’s media day, Kansas City Chiefs players, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, defensive lineman Chris Jones, and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, had high praise for Nix.
Spagnuolo, who has four Super Bowl victories under his belt, was particularly effusive in his praise.
“He’s the real deal. He grew as a rookie… The Broncos have a bright future with him. I’m really impressed,” Spagnuolo commented.
This type of respect from a seasoned coach is a clear indicator that Nix has earned the league’s attention.
The Chiefs witnessed firsthand the damage Nix can inflict when he led the Broncos to a stunning 38-0 win over Kansas City in Week 18, sealing the Broncos‘ playoff berth.
Nix threw four touchdowns, completed 26-of-29 passes, and passed for over 300 yards in a dominant performance that left a lasting impression on Spagnuolo and the Chiefs’ defense.
Even with Super Bowl LIX on the line, Patrick Mahomes took time to acknowledge Nix’s impressive debut season.
Mahomes, who is on the verge of making history with a possible three-peat Super Bowl victory, recognized Nix as a fierce competitor.
“He’s a competitor,” Mahomes said. “He’s going to be a great quarterback in this league.”
Such praise from one of the game’s best quarterbacks further cements Nix’s potential to lead the Broncos into a new era of success.
