BMW Championship 2025: Dates, tee times, how to watch live, players and more

The 2025 BMW Championship, the second event in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, unfolds from Thursday, August 14 to Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. Only the top 50 players in the FedEx Cup standings make the cut-no second-round cut here-and they battle for ranking points and a coveted spot among the top 30 advancing to the Tour Championship.

Tee Times

Tee times for Rounds 1 and 2 are to be announced. For Round 3 (Saturday) and the Final Round (Sunday), play begins around 8:00 a.m. ET, with tee-offs running through late morning.

How to Watch the BMW Championship?

U.S. fans have several ways to catch the action:

ESPN+ (PGA Tour Live): Offers exclusive early coverage and featured group streams throughout the tournament.

TV Coverage:

  • Thursday & Friday: 2-6 p.m. ET on Golf Channel
  • Saturday: 1-3 p.m. ET on Golf Channel, followed by 3-6 p.m. ET on NBC/Peacock
  • Sunday: 12-2 p.m. ET on Golf Channel, then 2-6 p.m. ET on NBC/Peacock

Additional Streaming Options: Live simulcasts are available via NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports App, and Peacock carries NBC’s broadcasts.

Standout Players to Watch

  • Scottie Scheffler – The world No. 1 and heavy favorite, seeking his fifth victory of the season and aiming to become the first player since Tiger Woods to win five times in back-to-back seasons.
  • Rory McIlroy – Making his playoff debut following a break; well-rested and in strong form, with a top-five finish previously at Caves Valley, where he’s looking to reassert himself.
  • Patrick Cantlay – A former BMW Championship winner and known for playing well in Baltimore; always a dangerous contender.
  • Xander Schauffele – Currently outside the top 30 in FedExCup standings and in need of a surge to qualify for the Tour Championship; always a threat.
  • J.J. Spaun – A surprising longshot who nearly captured victory in Memphis; strong iron play and a runner-up finish could spark another deep run.
  • Cam Young, Russell Henley, and Ludvig Ă…berg – Highlighted as value or sleeper picks due to recent form, consistency, and strong play off the tee.
  • Justin Rose – Coming off a playoff win at the St. Jude Championship, he’s riding momentum and proven late-season form.
  • Tommy Fleetwood and Chris Gotterup – Among a wave of debutants at Caves Valley; Fleetwood is getting buzz despite inconsistent results, and Gotterup is one of the top players just inside the top 30 bubble.
  • Notable absence: Sepp Straka has withdrawn due to a personal matter, reducing the field to 49 and slightly easing the competition.

The BMW Championship intensifies the FedEx Cup drama-only 50 players tee up to fight for the top 30 spots and a shot at the Tour Championship. With no cut and standings reset ahead of East Lake, every stroke counts.
