The Los Angeles Lakers have not been able to maintain the level of consistency necessary to secure meaningful victories that would allow them to keep pace in the Western Conference standings. This past Thursday, March 5, 2026, they suffered another defeat that once again exposed the team’s irregular path during the campaign.

However, for LeBron James, the night had much to enjoy individually, although by the end of the game, a situation unfolded that ultimately sent him to the bench, forced to watch as his teammates once again fell short while he could do very little to change the outcome.

The great night of LeBron James with a touch of sadness

At 41 years of age, LeBron James continues to leave records in his wake throughout his remarkable journey in the NBA. In the most recent matchup against the Denver Nuggets, which ultimately ended in defeat for the Los Angeles team, he once again demonstrated why his name remains among the league’s most historic figures.

With two minutes remaining in the contest, James was shaken after suffering a hard fall that left the legendary star with an injured elbow. The pain was clearly visible on his face as he reacted to the blow and tried to regain composure.

After leaving the floor, medical personnel approached to examine the injured area while he sat on the bench. It was evident from his expressions that the discomfort was real and significant. Following the brief medical evaluation, he returned to the court and managed to play for approximately two additional minutes.

At that moment, the scoreboard showed 112-111 with only 2:05 left on the clock, and with just 22 seconds remaining, he was removed from the game once again. In the end, the Lakers closed the night with a 120-113 loss.

Once the game concluded, head coach JJ Redick addressed the situation involving James and explained what had occurred following the incident.

Icing his left elbow after the game, and that he was experiencing enough discomfort that it caused him to be unable to finish the game.

Earlier in the contest, while he was still performing at full capacity, LeBron managed to break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record for the most field goals made in NBA history, adding yet another milestone to his already legendary career.
