Bills’ Josh Allen receives a major off-field honor ahead of the game against the Falcons

Josh Allen started his ninth NFL season with the Buffalo Bills with a perfect 4-0 record. However, the New England Patriots won Week 5 by a score of 20-23, handing the team its first loss of the season.

Now, as they prepare for their Monday Night Football matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, the 29-year-old quarterback received some major recognition.

Allen receives an honor

Josh’s former high school, Firebaugh High, decided to make a grand gesture to the now Bills QB and dedicated its football field to him.

During halftime of Firebaugh’s 35-3 victory over Tranquility on Friday, a ceremony was held attended by his parents, Lavonne and Joel Allen. There, it was announced that the football field would be named “Josh Allen Field.”

In addition, he received the honor from the Firebaugh-Las Deltas United School District Board of Trustees, which was engraved on a commemorative plaque on the grounds.

Of course, when the news broke, his fans were quick to show their support:

“Super cool and well deserved!” said one of them. “That’s awesome, his family must be so proud,” commented another follower. “That’s cool. Love that Josh gives back to his local community as well as so much more. Also looks like the tailgate scene is pretty solid over there as well. Good luck this season!” wrote a third.

Meanwhile, he and the Bills are preparing to travel and play on the road for the first time in a month against the Falcons. Josh, who has recorded 9 touchdowns and 1,217 yards with a 70.4% completion rate, will look to lead a team that is not only coming off its first loss but is also battered by injuries.

Safety Damar Hamlin suffered a pectoral injury, defensive tackle TJ Sanders is dealing with a knee injury, and veteran linebacker Matt Milano continues to battle a pectoral injury suffered earlier in the season that has worsened.

The Bills will take the field at Mercedes-Benz Stadium to try to defend their first-place position in the AFC East, while the Falcons, meanwhile, are in second place in the NFC South, with two wins and two losses.
