Josh Allen led the Buffalo Bills to an important 31-35 victory over Drake Maye and the New England Patriots (11-3).

Gillette Stadium witnessed an exciting game in which Sean McDermott’s team improved its record to 10-4 and snapped its rivals’ long streak of 10 consecutive victories. And the 29-year-old quarterback shone: did his family situation have an influence?

The Bills took revenge for the Week 5 game, where the Pats visited Highmark Stadium and beat the home team 20-23. Now, the Buffalo have achieved a victory that gives them a legitimate chance to fight for the AFC East title, even though they remain in second place.

During the game, the Bills quarterback shone, recording 193 passing yards and 3 touchdowns. He also had no interceptions and added 48 rushing yards on 11 carries.

But the victory and his strong performance aren’t the only good news for Josh, as on Friday, December 12, he and his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, announced that they are expecting their first child together.

After the game against the Patriots, Allen was asked about the changes in his personal life and whether it was this new addition to his family that motivated him to perform better at Gillette Stadium. While the QB admitted he wasn’t sure, he didn’t miss the opportunity to praise his team and his wife:

“Obviously very happy, very blessed,” Allen said. “You know, I love my team, I love my wife, she’s my favorite teammate,” he concluded.

This clip was shared by the NFL’s official Instagram account, where fans sent their love and respect to the Bills QB:

“I’m a Patriots fan, but I can’t even hate this guy. He has the kindest eyes I’ve ever seen,” said one of them. “Find someone who talks about you like that. That’s love,” recommended another follower. “Josh Allen is the best on and off the field,” said a third user. “That’s my quarterback,” wrote another fan.

Meanwhile, Allen and the Bills return to action in Week 16, visiting Huntington Bank Field to face the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, December 21. They finish the season against the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Jets.
