Big news has just hit Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of their game against the Indianapolis Colts

There’s no doubt the Kansas City Chiefs suffered a tough loss to the Denver Broncos, 22-19, a result that pushes them even further away from the top of the AFC West and from the playoff picture. The Chiefs haven’t missed the playoffs since 2015 and have won their division every year since 2016, but that streak may be coming to an end.

Before Sunday’s game, Patrick Mahomes had a 13-1 career record against the Denver Broncos; however, this loss turned out to be a brutal blow. Since preseason, there was speculation that the Broncos would contend for the AFC West, and that has proven true. They currently stand at 9-2 and it seems unlikely that anyone will stop them from winning the division.

As he has been all season, Will Lutz has become an extremely reliable player, and the game against the Chiefs was no exception. The kicker made five field goals, including the 35-yarder at the end that sealed the victory for the Broncos. Bo Nix wasn’t spectacular, but once again moved the chains when it mattered and finished with 295 passing yards.

The Chiefs will be favored again next Sunday

Despite Denver’s strong record, the sportsbooks once again put their trust in Patrick Mahomes and listed the Kansas City Chiefs as 3-point favorites. This decision caused controversy throughout the week, especially because the Broncos entered the game with seven straight wins and a defense playing at a very high level.

Now the story repeats itself: the Indianapolis Colts, who come in at 8-2 and playing great football-especially with Jonathan Taylor emerging as an MVP contender-will visit the Chiefs next Sunday in Week 12. Oddsmakers have once again made the Chiefs 3.5-point favorites. This isn’t surprising, particularly because this game may be decisive for Kansas City’s playoff hopes.

The Indianapolis Colts have lost only two games this season: one required a comeback against the Los Angeles Rams, and the other was against the Pittsburgh Steelers, where Daniel Jones committed five turnovers. Even so, it’s a well-balanced team with Jonathan Taylor, who has scored three touchdowns across four games this season.

The Kansas City Chiefs are going through a very difficult moment. Just a couple of games ago they were the hottest team in the NFL, and Patrick Mahomes was the leading favorite for MVP. However, after two painful losses to the Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos, everything has fallen apart and their 2025 aspirations are fading.
