Ben Shelton has been the best American tennis player, in my opinion, for the past year and into 2025 season. His passion and charisma have inspired many in the tennis community. He has advanced to the quarterfinals of 2025 Wimbledon after defeating Lorenzo Sonego with a scoreline of 3-6, 6-1, 7-6, 6-7, and 7-5. He nows awaits for the winner between Jannick Sinner and Grigor Dimitrov.

This Wimbledon, he has gone viral and attracted attention for various reasons. His relationship with USWNT player Trinity Rodman was officially confirmed, and his impressive tennis skills have captivated many fans. After his victory in a thrilling match against Marton Fucsovics, he made headlines by asking Morgan Stanley, a global financial advisory firm, to give his sister additional time off to join him at Wimbledon.

Days later, his sister announced on Instagram that she had secured more days off and would spend the final week with him. He will be well accompanied by his family and girlfriend, and his dad serves as his coach.

Shelton has now reached the second week of the tournament in 50% of the Grand Slams he has played in his career. While he may not be the most consistent player outside of the Slams, he shines when it matters most. He loves the big stage, and Grand Slams are where players are truly defined.

The electricity and talent he displays on grass will pose a challenge for future rounds and Wimbledon editions, especially with his powerful serve being one of his greatest assets.

This year, he joins an elite group as just the fourth player to reach the round of 16 in all four majors so far: Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, and Ben Shelton. He nows reaches his first Wimbledon quarterfinals, but his fourth quarterfinals in Grand Slams.
