Ben Affleck breaks the mold in a Super Bowl 2025 commercial without Jennifer Lopez: “Look where I am now.”

Ben Affleck is one of Hollywood‘s most famous actors and his influence and charisma has led him to be a movie producter and an Academy Award winner for best direction (“Argo“, 2013).

Affleck’s also has had major success in his partnership with Dunkin’, the largest coffee and donuts brand in the United States. The actor and the company started working together for a Super Bowl campaign back in February 2023, when the Hollywood star was the protagonist of a commercial where he got to work in the Dunkin‘ drive-thru.

It was the brand’s first-ever Super Bowl spot, and Afflec took a surprise order from his then wife, Jennifer Lopez. This universe continued to expand, from Ben being mistaken for Matt Damon while making a Dunkin’ run to a collaboration with Ice Spice for a bespoke beverage.

The DunKings are back… without Jennifer Lopez

One of the most talked-about Super Bowl ads from last year starred Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez and a couple of major stars who advertised Dunkin’. Ben surprises J.Lo by dramatically crashing her recording session in the studio.

Accompanied by his star-studded boy band entourage decked out in outrageous Dunkin’ tracksuits – including two of Boston’s finest, Matt Damon and Tom Brady, The DunKings unveil their pop banger, “Don’t Dunk Away at My Heart,” much to the amusement – and embarrassment – of J.Lo.

This year things were gonna change, no doubt about it. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have moved on from one another, once and for all. The couple dated in the early 2000s before reconnecting nearly 20 years later. Though they married in 2022, Lopez and Affleck struggled to keep their marriage afloat; they separated in the middle of 2024, before Lopez filed for divorce in August. They settled their divorce last January.

Jeremy Strong steals the new Dunkin’ ad

So this time around, “Succession” star Jeremy Strong, a Boston native, appears in the new Dunkin’ commercial along with Ben Affleck and his brother Casey. The ad, titled “The Bean Method,” starts with the Afflecks talking outside Strong’s dressing room, with Casey saying that Strong is preparing for his new role

“Jeremy is a method actor. He’s not coming out till he’s ready,” Casey says. Ben then opens the door, and Strong emerges from a giant can of Dunkin’ coffee beans. “What are you doing in there?” Ben says.

“We’re doing a Dunkin’ Donuts commercial, right?” Strong responds. “I’m just trying to find the character.” “I think I found a way in,” Strong continues. “You’re from Boston, I’m from Boston. Dunkin’ is Boston. Boston is Paul Revere. One if by land, two if by sea. The red coats are coming.”

“You’re an artist,” Ben replies. “and I know what that’s like, but how long is it going to take for the bean method?”

“I mean, I’ll be ready in like three hours,” Strong says. “You should have paid for Matt,” Casey deadpans, referring to their friend Matt Damon. “I told you that,” Ben says. The commercial ends with the words “Suit Up, America, 2.9.25” on screen, teasing ahead to the Super Bowl, where Ben and the DunKings are expected to embark on their next chapter.
