Minutes after the Clasico ended, Bellingham posted a photo on his Instagram profile with his arms open and a message with a clear recipient: “Talk is cheap. Hala Madrid always.”

It was not necessary to say more. The Englishman, who assisted and scored, responded without mentioning Lamine Yamal’s words in the run-up to the match, when the young Barcelona player had lit the fuse with allusions to Real Madrid. In the days leading up to the match, Lamine Yamal had been in the spotlight for some statements in the Kings League that did not go unnoticed in Madrid. “They steal, they complain…” he said with a smile, feeding the usual noise that surrounds El Clasico.

Already on the eve of the match, he once again set the moodwith a video in which he spoke of the pride of the neighborhood, of the pressure of those who never stopped believing and of a final message that sounded like a challenge: “I left fear in Mataro a long time ago.” He also uploaded to his stories an image of a previous Clasico, with Real Madrid fans heckling him from the stands. It was all part of the same story. The vindication of the boy who is not afraid of the stage.

However, Bellingham responded in his own way. The Englishman decided the Clasico and condensed on the field the widespread opinion of the dressing room. After that, he settled the debate on social media: in his stories he accompanied the post with ‘A Little Less Conversation’, by Elvis Presley. A clear, almost ironic nod to everything that had preceded the match.
