Believe it or not, Joe Milton III, quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, was compared to Josh Allen, yes, the NFL MVP

After a couple of seasons at the University of Tennessee, with 4,000 passing yards, 35 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, Joe Milton III entered the NFL in the 2024 Draft, after the New England Patriots selected him in the sixth round, despite having taken Drake Maye in the first round, who is now the future of the Pats.

Upon his arrival, Joe Milton became the third quarterback behind Jacoby Brissett and Drake Maye. However, in the last regular season game against the Buffalo Bills, Maye left the game, Milton came in and had an outstanding performance with 241 yards and 2 touchdowns, which caught the attention of other teams.

After his great performance and knowing that Drake Maye was the Patriots’ starter, the Pats traded Joe Milton III for a fifth-round pick to the Dallas Cowboys, where he is competing for the backup position behind Dak Prescott with Will Grier.

Joe Milton III was compared to Josh Allen

This past weekend, Joe Milton III made his debut with the Dallas Cowboys when they visited the Los Angeles Rams, where the Tennessee alum had an inconsistent performance with 143 passing yards, one touchdown pass, and suffered one interception; additionally, he rushed for 22 yards.

Despite the criticism, in a press conference this Monday, the Cowboys’ Head Coach Brian Schottenheimer stated that the Rams’ defense attacked him and prepared a game plan specifically against him-a situation that the current NFL MVP, Josh Allen, faces every weekend.

It’s a strong comparison, but it’s understandable that the Head Coach supports his player, especially since it was his first game with the franchise and because of the investment they made. Joe Milton III should immediately be Dak Prescott’s backup, although the battle continues with Will Grier.
