Chicago Bearsrookie QB Caleb Williams has been making headlines all offseason – and not just for what he’s doing on the field.
Over the weekend, Williams was spotted dancing at Illinois’ Summer Smash music festival with none other than actress Madelyn Cline, best known for her roles in Outer Banks and Glass Onion. The two shared the same circle of friends during Sexyy Redd’s set, laughing and moving together in a way that felt familiar – and instantly got people talking.
While there wasn’t any obvious PDA, fans were quick to take notice. Social media clips of the two vibing quickly went viral, with TikTok comments flooding in: “That’s not just friendly energy.” Others wondered whether this was the unofficial confirmation that things with Alina Thyregod – Williams’ longtime girlfriend – were over.
A Shift in the Timeline?
Williams and Thyregod had been a staple since their debut at the 2024 NFL Draft, even celebrating their one-year anniversary last fall. But fans noticed something was off earlier this year when Thyregod deleted all traces of Williams from her Instagram. A solo appearance by the QB at the Miami Grand Prix added fuel to the speculation fire.
Then cameAmerican Kings, Seth Wickersham’s buzzy new book, which detailed how Williams’ father reportedly tried to guide the draft process to land his son with a team of choice. Williams stayed composed in his response, telling reporters, “I love being here,” referring to his new home in Chicago.
But while he may be keeping things calm in press conferences, it’s clear there’s a lot happening behind the scenes – and fans are watching closely.
As far as Madelyn Cline goes, the 27-year-old has kept a relatively low dating profile since her split with actor Chase Stokes. Her festival appearance with Williams marks the first time she’s been publicly linked to anyone in months.
Training camp is now underway at Halas Hall. The Bears are hoping to give their young QB better protection this year after he was sacked a league-high 68 times last season (per ESPN). Williams still managed 20 touchdowns and a 62.5% completion rate, but all eyes are now on what he can do with a full season – and maybe a fresh start off the field too.
The Bears open their 2025 season at home against the Minnesota Vikings on September 8. But if this weekend’s festival footage is any indication, Caleb’s already learning how to stay in rhythm – on and off the field.
