Much has been said about Nike’s neglect of Caitlin Clark, as the Indiana Fever superstar has taken so long to see its athletic products on the market. This negative issue was immortalized by a fan of the player in a poster that provoked an immediate reaction from Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.

The brand has chosen to focus its attention on A’ja Wilson and her iconic sneaker line, leaving the Caitlin Clark shoes and logo in the background. And fans are growing increasingly restless, and rightfully so, as Clark is by far the most popular athlete in the WNBA.

Nike has neglected Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever’s star

All Nike has done regarding Caitlin Clark’s sneakers and their marketing efforts in general is announce that they are, in fact, in the process of creating her sneaker line.

Considering that A’ja Wilson’s (Las Vegas Aces center) sneakers sold out in a matter of minutes, the brand will want to speed up the release process for Clark’s sneakers, as some fans didn’t buy the A’Ones to save up for their own. There’s no update yet.

Nike and Caitlin Clark Artwork Sparks Barstool Sports’ Reaction

Fan frustration with Nike’s slow rollout of Caitlin Clark’s signature products has been mounting. One fan turned that frustration into creativity by creating a tribute poster. It features a wooden boat shaped like the iconic Nike logo, with Clark at the helm, basketball in hand, navigating through turbulent waters.

The slogan reads, “A rising tide lifts all boats,” a phrase that captures her influence on the WNBA with uncanny accuracy. The artwork reached Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports and Indiana Fever superfan, who responded with three simple words: “This is awesome.”
