The 2024 season comes to an end and with it the Nitto ATP Finals, a tournament that does not award points but does confirm the best player of the season. In the regular season, Jannik Sinner, the new world number one and runner-up in last year’s finals, arrives as the top seed after withdrawing from the Paris Masters 1000 due to a stomach virus.
From November 10 to 17, the Italian will be joined at the Alpitour in Turin by the other seven best tennis players of the season. After Novak Djokovic announced his withdrawal due to injury, the three places that were still up for grabs now have names: Casper Ruud, Alex de Minaur and Andrey Rublev. They join Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev and Taylor Fritz.
The three lowest-ranked players are competing in the ATP 250 tournaments in Metz (Ruud and Rublev) and Belgrade (De Minaur) respectively.
Although there is a difference in level and rhythm between the top five and the bottom three, the ATP Finals will notice the absence of Djokovic, its most successful champion with seven titles and winner of its last edition.
Once the eight rackets that will meet in Turin are known, Sinner; Alcaraz; Zverev; Medvdev; Fritz; Ruud; de Minaur and Rublev will know their path on Thursday, November 7, when the draw will take place to divide the players into two groups of four.
