Although they have Geno Smith secured through 2027, it’s not ruled out that the team might select a quarterback for the future and develop him over the coming seasons.
Quinn Ewers and Ashton Jeanty could arrive to bolster the team via the Draft
The Raiders are tracking several prospects ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, with Quinn Ewers and Ashton Jeanty being among the most notable currently under evaluation.
The franchise holds the sixth overall pick in the Draft and has already made interesting moves, including signing Pete Carroll as the new Head Coach, but it seems it’s time to look toward the future.
According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, Quinn Ewers isn’t the only QB they’re closely following, and there was even a planned meeting with Shedeur Sanders, though based on the team’s draft order, it’s more likely that the former Texas Longhorn would be available in the range that would take them to the second round.
The Raiders have also had visits from Ashton Jeanty, an explosive running back who showcased his best skills during the college season with Boise State; for many experts, he would be the No. 6 pick in the Draft.
It’s said that the organization might target Quinn Ewers in the second or even third round-two strong prospects who could signal a fresh start for the franchise.
Yes, we all know they won’t see immediate results, but what if they do with two such talented players, combined with the influence of a great coach and the presence of Tom Brady?
