Aryna Sabalenka took a break from tennis and gave fans a rare look at her personal life, posting photos of a relaxed double date with Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena on Instagram.
In the photos, the tennis stars are seen enjoying time with their partners, as Sabalenka and her boyfriend Georgios Frangulis joined the Djokovic couple for what she described as a “dream double date.”
The post quickly gained attention, racking up over 200,000 likes.
The Belarusian star, currently ranked world No 1, has been enjoying a break after her recent US Open title run, spending time travelling and reconnecting with loved ones.
Sabalenka praises Djokovic’s mentorship
While Sabalenka and Djokovic may be rivals on the court, she has previously spoken about how much she values his advice and insight into the game. Speaking during Wimbledon, Sabalenka credited the Serbian great for helping her sharpen her mental game and approach to big moments.
“Talking a lot to Novak, like, he definitely has a lot of knowledge of the game,” she said. “It’s really helped me a lot several times.”
She added that their conversations touched on everything from conserving energy during matches to staying mentally strong during finals. “One time he really helped me with the return,” she said, joking that Djokovic now teases her for copying his style. “I’m like, man, it’s working. I’m copying the best.”
While Sabalenka prepares to return at the Wuhan Open on October 6, Djokovic is already back in competition. He recently beat Marin Cilic in straight sets at the Shanghai Masters, marking his first match since his US Open loss to Carlos Alcaraz.
For both players, a brief pause from competition offered a chance to unwind, connect, and enjoy some rare downtime – away from the intensity of the tour.
