The Ravens shared a black-and-white photo of Jones alongside a message from General Manager Eric DeCosta, honoring the former defensive tackle’s life, legacy, and impact on the organization.

“We are terribly saddened to learn of Arthur Jones’ sudden passing,” began the message from Ravens General Manager Eric DeCosta. He continued, “Arthur’s presence was a gift to everyone he encountered. His big, bright smile, infectious energy, and eternal positivity created a presence that continuously uplifted others.” The heartfelt tribute reflected the profound impact Jones had on those around him, both on and off the field.

The tribute concluded with heartfelt words: “He was kind, courteous and enthusiastic, always displaying a love for family, teammates and friends.” It ended with a message of sympathy, stating, “We send our deepest condolences to the Jones family and all who loved Arthur.”

Arthur Jones NFL legacy: remembering the impact of a Super Bowl champion

Arthur Jones enjoyed a seven-year career in the NFL, beginning with the Baltimore Ravens, who selected him in the fifth round of the 2010 Draft. During his time in Baltimore, he experienced his greatest success, helping the team capture a Super Bowl title. Jones is fondly remembered for his crucial sack on 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick in the closing moments of that thrilling victory in New Orleans.

After helping the Ravens capture a Super Bowl title, one year later he went on to join the Indianapolis Colts, where he played from 2014 to 2016. Jones concluded his career with Washington, then known as the Redskins, now the Commanders. Jones leave behind a legacy of hard work and leadership.
