Anthony Edwards allegedly told ex to ‘get da abortion’, now she’s taking him to court

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is making headlines-but not for his game. Court documents filed by Ayesha Howard claim that the 23-year-old guard encouraged her to get an abortion when she revealed her pregnancy in early 2024. When she refused, she says, he blocked her on all platforms and cut off communication.

The legal dispute is heating up as Howard, 38, seeks to move the paternity and child support case to California, arguing that Edwards’ filing in Georgia is an attempt to minimize his financial responsibility.

According to documents first obtained by InTouch Weekly, Howard shared alleged text messages that paint a picture of a man who wanted no part in fatherhood.

“I’m pregnant… wanted to tell you in person but you gave me no other choice,”she allegedly texted Edwards. His response? “Ok lol. Get da abortion lol.”

Howard pushed back, telling him she wouldn’t terminate the pregnancy, offering to keep him updated or let him be uninvolved. Edwards’ alleged response was blunt:“Omg [laughing emojis] bye.”

In another screenshot, Howard asked if he hated her. Edwards allegedly answered, “[Yes]. Because you bringing a child in the world that’s gone be without a father.“

Edwards’ history of paternity disputes raises questions

Howard claims Edwards never reached out to check on her or their daughter throughout the pregnancy. She says she repeatedly asked for a DNA test but was only offered an unsupervised, non-legal method that didn’t sit right with her. Official testing later confirmed that Edwards is, in fact, the father of the baby girl, Aubri’ Summers, born in October 2024.

This isn’t the first time Edwards has been accused of this kind of behavior. In December 2023, another woman, Paige Jordae, shared alleged texts where he offered her $100,000 to terminate a pregnancy. Edwards later apologized for those comments, saying they were made “in the heat of the moment.”

Edwards’ personal life is under a microscope. He’s been in a relationship with Shannon Jackson since 2020, and they welcomed a daughter, Aislynn, in March 2024. Meanwhile, he is also reportedly the father of two other children-one-year-old Aris with a woman named Daja and one-year-old Amir with Ally D.

Despite these multiple paternity claims, Edwards has only publicly acknowledged his child with Jackson. Howard argues that his alleged pattern of neglect is why she is fighting for full custody and child support.

With legal proceedings ongoing, Edwards has yet to comment publicly on Howard’s claims. The situation could have lasting implications for his image, especially as he cements himself as one of the NBA’s brightest young stars.

For now, the battle over baby Aubri continues, and Edwards may have to face the reality that avoiding fatherhood isn’t as simple as blocking someone’s number.
