Anthony Edwards achieves incredible record in Minnesota Timberwolves victory

Minnesota Timberwolves knocked the Los Angeles Lakers out of the Playoffs after defeating them 96-103 and closing the first round series in their favor with a crushing 1-4.

Luka Doncic was the top scorer for the Lakers with 28 points and 9 assists and LeBron James, 22. Although Anthony Edwards only scored almost half as much as Docic with 15 points and missed 3 of 4 shots, the home team’s effort was not enough to reverse the results and fight for a sixth game. Rudy Gobert dominated the game with 27 points and 24 rebounds.

Thus, in five games, the Timberwolves got out of the first round again, just like last season, and the reasons to celebrate are still coming.

Not only did the win seal their passage to the conference semifinals, but it also brought with it an incredible record for Anthony Edwards.

The 23-year-old guard became the first player to lead his team in scoring in multiple series wins over former multi-time MVPs in NBA history. He recently did it against LeBron James, but last year he would have done it against Nikola Joki.

This was announced on X @Twolves_PR with stats provided by OptaSTATS.

The next step for the Timberwolves

After the win, the Timberwolves will have to wait for their next opponent in the Western Semifinals on May 3.

The options for Minnesota are the Houston Rockets or the Golden State Warriors . The Warriors of Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler have a 2-3 record in the series.
